Ever looked at the singers in the spotlight and wondered how they do it?
Throughout the year we run a course aimed at Adults from complete beginners, through to the seasoned performer who has just never learned and is curious to understand if, what they are doing is right.
In singing there is technique and theory, along with the usual blood, sweat and tears associated with learning an instrument. Therefore, the content in this programme is structured mostly around learning technique, rather than performance.
Course runs for 7 weeks on Tuesday evenings in Rayleigh, with start dates in February, May, September and November
- The key to well supported singing is good breathing. In this course, you’ll learn several breathing techniques and how to put them all into practise within song
- Good posture is vital to access the voice effectively. We’ll explore how to free up the voice to make singing easy
- A good singer will always warm up: we’ll start to look at different kinds of warm-up exercises and understand why they are important.
At the end of the eight-week period, you’ll come away with the tools to enable you to put it all into practise yourself.
The cost is £70 per person for the full course. Places are limited to a maximum of 10, to keep the class small and friendly.

Chris Robson - “As someone who sings regularly but has never had a lesson, I really enjoyed this course and learned so much about what was happening when I sang, as well as many new tips and techniques that will help me in the future”
Chris Jolly - "I found the course really beneficial for myself and have found a couple more breathing techniques which I never knew existed! Looking at how I was from the start of the course to the end my breathing greatly improved. I would highly recommend doing the course to help with your breathing techniques"
