Do you love to sing? Do you sing in the shower, the car or anywhere else when the mood takes you? Do you love music? Would you like to get out there and sing with a group of people who feel just like you? Make friends and get involved in something truly worthwhile?
We’re on the look out for enthusiastic adults to join our little movement! The Equal People Choir brings people together who want to sing and who want to get involved in a charity but can’t seem to find enough time.
We want to hear from both experienced and non-experienced singers, as our professional vocal coaches will be on hand to show you the ropes!
What is ‘The Equal People Choir’?
The choir was set up at the start of 2019 by Essex Vocal Coaching founder, Louisa Strachan:
‘…to bring people together who want to sing, whilst helping to raise some much needed funding for Equal People Performing Arts (EPPA)…’
EPPA is a charity that exists to provide access to the arts for people of all abilities, needs and backgrounds. The Charity facilitates a number of initiatives but there is so much more EPPA can be doing to help support people with additional needs and their families, which is where the choir can help (click here to read more about the work the charity does).
How can you get involved?
The choir rehearse weekly, on Wednesday’s at 8pm-10pm and is open to anyone aged 16+.
Each week our coaches work with the group on popular songs from the charts, musical theatre, gospel and some crowd pleasing golden oldies! You’ll learn harmonies, vocal technique and there’s also solo opportunities for some of the more experienced vocalists. All this with the objective of working towards performances in aid of the charity. Performing at this is not mandatory, if you just want to come along and sing each week and help in other ways, that’s fine too.
To register your interest please complete the form and we’ll be in touch to let you know when you can come along for a free taster session.
