Who is this class for?

For adults who want to learn to play guitar. The class is aimed at complete beginners or those who started and stopped very quickly.

Class Outline

  • Learn how to be comfortable with your instrument

  • Basic chords to get you started

  • Picking and strumming, fingers and Plectrum

  • Simple well known Tunes to understand Lead Playing

  • Scales fingerstyles and exercises to build strength

  • Timing, beats and how to count bars

  • Onto to basic songs and Nursery Rhymes (for familiarity)

  • Basic music theory

You will come away with the tools to begin to play a number of songs and can move on to a more advanced class, if you wish. You will have an understanding of how to play basic lead and basic rhythm guitar. We will also work on one song collectively both lead and rhythm parts (depending on key strengths of individual students) to demonstrate playing in a group / band setting.

Get in touch to discuss further on or simply book your first session below:

A Folder will be provided for students to keep work sheets, please ensure these are present for every lesson as this will be core to the learning progress.

Recommended practice is 30 minutes 2-3 times a week at least. Please be aware that failure to practice between sessions may leave you struggling to move forward with the whole group as each session is progressive.
